Our Adoption Timeline

November 2010 - Mail in application to start home-study in Los Angeles, CA.

December 2010 - Start home-study.

April 2011 - Home-Study complete!

July 2011 - USCIS approval.

September 2011 - Look for new agency in IL to update home-study and USCIS.

December 2011 - Started update process with The Cradle (after an attempt to work with a different agency that did not work out).

December 2011 - Start fundraising with AdoptTogether.

January 2012 - Approved to start our Home-Study update.

May 2012 - Home-Study update complete & dossier paperwork in process.

July 2012 - USCIS update approved, dossier paperwork sent into Holt International, and our family is put on the waiting list.

September 2012 - Reached our $35,000 fundraising goal with AdoptTogether.

November 2012 - Moved towards the top of waiting list.

April 2013 - Matched with our son
